European VAR meeting in Poland
Geometric held it's annual European Value Added Reseller (VAR) meeting at the Novotel Krakow Centrum, Krakow, Poland from 18th to 22nd May, 2009. The event was attended by more than 20 VARs from various regions across Europe. This five-day event was aimed at promoting CAMWorks, and increasing its growth in the European territories.

The meeting provided a platform for VAR’s to share information with each other, as well as with Geometric Technologies, gaining in-depth knowledge of the product, and the market challenges being faced in the current economic times.

During the event, Dr. Vinay Kulkarni, VP –Desktop Products & Technologies presented Geometric’s future roadmap and plans; while Sunil Palrecha, Director Marketing-Desktop Products presented the marketing plan.

Mike Sours, Director - Support trained the attendees on new features and improved functionality in CAMWorks 2009, and gave an overview on the development plans for CAMWorks 2010. The VAR meeting concluded with certification testing of VAR applications engineers, and we are happy to report an 80% passing rate. This was clearly a remarkable achievement, and displayed the high level of qualification within the European VAR channel. Congratulations to Rudi Obeser from our German VAR Geovision, who achieved the highest score in the certification exams.

Post the event, an interesting and relaxing trip was organized to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, which is one of the world´s oldest operating salt mines, and has been producing table salt since the 13th century.
