We have been associated with the CAM market for more than 20 years along with our software ‘Geovision’ – a true 2D and shopfloor oriented CAM application. Several years ago, we realized the market requires solid based machining as a core component. Based on this cue, we decided either to develop our own application for the growing 3D market or start selling an ‘out-of-the-box’ solid-based CAM application. After scrutinizing the CAM products available in the market, we decided to go proceed as a CAMWorks reseller. The keypoints for making the decision were the seamless integration into SolidWorks®, the ease of use, and most important, the powerful and fast 2.5 axis milling functions of CAMWorks. The combination of automatic feature recognition and the Technology database are till today unique in the CAM market and it forms the selling point of knowledge-based machining when approaching customers.

The relationship with Geometric (formerly Teksoft) was established with Robert Hutter on a trustful level, which is very important for a long term business partnership. We invested significantly to meet our goal of creating in-house know-how regarding sales, support and postprocessor programming at the earliest, and it turned out that this was the right way to go since it’s resulted in clear return of investments and appreciation from our customer base.

Our experience being a CAMWorks reseller is consistently positive seeing the functionality, ease of use and speed of the software. The development of the product is on an excellent level, and has continued on Geometric acquiring Teksoft. However: Nothing and nobody is perfect – we would wish a more promptly fixing of reported bugs.

With CAMWorks, we are well positioned for the current competitive CAM market as well as for the future. Considering the present economically challenging environment, we are ready to invest in marketing activities, in order to increase the CAMWorks sales in Germany. As a reseller, we also depend on Geometric for the marketing activities, and are very happy to see that Geometric is also ready to invest, this periodically released newsletter being a good example of such efforts.
