Geometric at Alucast Focus 2009
Alucast Focus 2009 an event organized by Aluminium Casters' Association of India was held in Pune, India from 5th - 6th September, 2009. The event exclusively focused on product development for casting components.
During the conference, the key focus was on Geometric's products: CAMWorks- for machining casting components, DFMPro - for identifying castin related problems at the design stage, and GeomCaliper - for addressing critical wall thickness issues.
A white paper on 'How Tooling and Casting requirements can be addressed at Design Stage' was presented by Mr. Bhaskar Sinha, Product Manager for DFMPro, and was well received by the audience. Mr. Avishek Roy, Business Development Manager for GeomCaliper and Mr. Sambit Pradhan, Business Development Manager, India were also present at the event
CAMWorks workshop at Shivaji University, India
Geometric participated in a one-day workshop on 'Advances in CAD/CAM/CAE', which was held at Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India on 9th September, 2009. This event was jointly attended by our educational partner, IFS Academy /Infinite Solutions, Pune, who is also the SolidWorks reseller for Maharastra region focusing educational sales.
The event was well attended by professors from different colleges under Shivaji University and students from the mechanical engineering faculty.

SolidWorks Innovation Day 2009
SolidWorks conducted a one-day event called 'SolidWorks Innovation Day' at Hotel Green Park, Hyderabad, India on Friday, 11th September, 2009. The focus of the event was the launch of SolidWorks 2010, which is the 18th release of the software.
Sambit Pradhan, Business Development Manager, India, represented Geometric and also presented CAMWorks 2009 as well as DFMPro to the audience. The event was attended by over 150 delegates from across industries, and we received very positive feedback for DFMPro from the attendees.
